Performs various duties within the Micro Market and vending machines, including functionality and operation of machines, availability of products, money‑handling machines, and payment kiosk, and ensures maintenance upkeep of machines as required. Sells general merchandise to customers using professional selling techniques, provides service that anticipates and exceeds customer expectations. Operates a motor vehicle throughout the geographical area and on public roads in connection with performance of job duties.
DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains Exchange‑owned machines and Micro Markets daily; inspects and replenishes products, ensures product shelf‑life dates, sanitizes areas, and removes expired or aged products.
- Greets and engages customers; assists in product selection and suggests complementary items.
- Ensures assigned areas are fully stocked and merchandise is neatly arranged; communicates with supervisor regarding stock additions, deletions, and customer preferences.
- Sets up and maintains prices and all Exchange‑branded visual programs in micro markets and machines; maintains current price list.
- Maintains a clean and orderly micro market; sweeps, mops floors, cleans counter‑tops, wipes down coolers, and empties trash cans.
- Assists with resetting merchandise in the micro market annually to ensure adherence to merchandise standards.
- Operates laptop/tablet, scanner, handheld and other electronic devices necessary for inventory receiving and ordering.
- Assists in relocating and installing new machines; cleans interior and exterior; makes settings and adjustments on dispensing and coin‑changer units.
- Collects money from vending machines, micro market kiosks, or other machines at locations according to established schedule; accompanies vendors as required; records counts and prepares Vending Machines Cash Collection Slips (SS 411).
- Responsible for inventory control of micro markets, trucks, routes, etc., in vending and micro‑market systems.
- Collects turn‑in money bags daily from Cash Handling Clerks; counts and verifies cash receipt; prepares Daily Cash Receipt (SS/120) and arranges deposit.
- Interacts with customers and coworkers in a friendly and professional manner, adheres to NEX dress code and supports other vending team members.
- Becomes knowledgeable regarding merchandise, including proper set‑up, use, care, characteristics of various product price points; communicates product‑related information to customers.
- Operates motor vehicle throughout the geographical area; loads and unloads merchandise by hand or dolly; protects merchandise from damage or bad weather.
- Prepares and maintains Daily Trip Report for all trips made.
- Adheres to preventive maintenance schedule (oil change, tuning, brakes, etc.) and maintains proper fuel levels; retains receipts; ensures vehicle is clean and returned to designated parking area.
Regularly lifts and transports moderately heavy objects weighing up to 40 lbs.; occasionally handles heavier items with assistance or material‑handling equipment. Regular walking, bending, or reaching required.
WORKING CONDITIONSWork is performed both inside and outside; occasional exposure to bad weather while loading and unloading vehicle; drives in all weather conditions and may be subject to cuts or bruises.
JOB REQUIREMENTS- Must possess a valid state driver’s license or a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL).
- Must possess knowledge and skills necessary to operate a motor vehicle safely.
- Must pass appropriate background checks needed for the specific area of responsibility (e.g., Federal, DOD, Security Clearance, etc.).
- Must pass the GSA defensive driving course.
One year of progressive responsible clerical, office, or retail sales work in which the applicant has demonstrated the ability to interact with customers.
