The Assistant Store Manager is a part‑time, on‑site role located in Kapolei, HI. In this role, the Assistant Store Manager supports daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, merchandising, and maintaining store standards that reflect Hot Topic’s brand and fan culture. This position helps lead and motivate the store team to deliver engaging customer service, drive sales, and ensure an outstanding in‑store experience.
The Assistant Store Manager assists with training and coaching associates, monitoring inventory, and supporting retail loss prevention processes. This role also collaborates with the Store Manager to analyze store performance, implement promotional activities, and uphold company policies and safety guidelines.
- Strong customer‑focused skills, including Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction, with the ability to create engaging experiences for diverse shoppers.
- Effective Communication skills to provide clear direction, give feedback, and collaborate with team members and customers.
- Store Management capabilities, such as supervising associates, coordinating daily operations, and supporting merchandising and visual standards.
- Knowledge of Retail Loss Prevention practices to help safeguard company assets and ensure a safe, secure environment.
- Previous retail or customer‑facing experience, preferably in a specialty or pop culture environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as business needs require.
- Demonstrated leadership potential, reliability, and a collaborative approach to working with diverse teams.
- Basic math and computer skills, and the ability to stand, move, and lift merchandise as part of regular store activities.
