Summary for Fire Alarm Systems Tech

Consistent with the BLS SOC 49-2098 classification, the Systems Technician tests, troubleshoots, repairs, installs, and commissions fire alarm and low-voltage life safety systems in commercial, industrial, and government facilities.

Requirements for Fire Alarm Systems Tech
  • Must be lawfully able to work within the USA.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
  • Must be willing to submit to and pass drug screenings and criminal background checks.
  • Must be able to pass background and security checks for government facilities.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs., work on ladders/lifts, and perform physical field work.
  • Must have proficient computer skills including use of MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and Adobe PDF.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend acceptable business English.
  • Must maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Must possess basic math skills.
Responsibilities for Fire Alarm Systems Tech System Installation & Field Work
  • Install and terminate fire alarm and low-voltage devices per drawings and code.
  • Perform system testing, inspection, verification, and documentation.
  • Execute field wiring tasks, labeling, cable routing, and quality installation practices.
  • Maintain clean, organized job sites and company equipment.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

This is a non-exempt position. Pay is hourly and commensurate with experience, skills, certifications, and value to the company. The following company benefits are included:
