Our client is a rapidly growing marine electrical services and engineering contractor delivering complex electrical solutions for large commercial vessels, including emergency response, engineering and design, custom switchboards, installations, troubleshooting, and field support for shipyards and marine operators.

We are seeking a hands-on Marine Electrician to support electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair projects aboard commercial vessels and within shipyard environments. This role is ideal for an electrician looking to build their marine electrical career while working alongside experienced professionals on a wide variety of vessel projects throughout the West Coast.

This role offers the opportunity to develop your marine electrical skills while supporting complex vessel projects with a rapidly growing industry leader.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment and systems aboard commercial vessels and within shipyard environments.
  • Install electrical wiring, cable trays, conduit, fixtures, panels, and other marine electrical components.
  • Assist with the installation, modification, and repair of marine electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical equipment, motors, and basic motor control systems using electrical testing equipment, including multimeters.
  • Perform routine maintenance on electrical wiring, equipment, and shipboard electrical systems.
  • Build and assemble custom control panels according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and personal trade tools to safely complete assigned work.
  • Support senior electricians during vessel upgrades, emergency repairs, new construction, and commissioning activities.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations, marine safety standards, and company safety procedures.
  • Work aboard commercial vessels, tugboats, barges, fishing vessels, container ships, and within shipyard facilities as project needs require.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of electrical experience in commercial, industrial, marine, or related environments.
  • Previous experience with electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, or repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Familiarity with electrical equipment, motors, control systems, and use of a multimeter.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintain an organized personal tool set.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a field team in shipyard and marine environments.
  • Comfortable working aboard active vessels, outdoors, in confined spaces, and at heights when required.
  • Willingness to travel periodically to support projects throughout the West Coast.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous marine, shipyard, industrial electrical, or mechanical experience.
  • Trade school, technical school, or college coursework in electrical technology preferred.
  • Familiarity with marine electrical systems and electrical testing equipment.
  • Experience building or wiring electrical control panels.
  • TWIC credential is a plus but not required.
Education
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Trade school, technical certificate, or college coursework in Electrical Technology preferred.
Licenses & Certifications
  • No certifications or licenses required.
  • TWIC credential is preferred but can be obtained after hire if needed.
