Aheavyequipment/dieselmechanicperformsavarietyoftaskstomaintain,repair,service,andconstructheavyequipment.

Heavyequipmentmechanicsmayworkonavarietyofequipment,including:pickuptrucks,automobiles,tractors,forklifts,backhoes,drillrigs,pumphoisttrucks,cranes,largecompressors,andancillaryequipmentandmachines.

Underthedirectionofthe Shop Manage rand Vice President ,the Mechanicwillperformtheday-to-dayactivitiesoffuelingandmechanicsontheirassigneddutiestoensurethatcost-effectiveequipmentservicingandmaintenanceareperformedsothatprojectscanworkwithoutbeingimpactedbydowntime.

ParticipatesinserviceplanningforequipmentwiththeshopmanagerorVP.Complieswithcompanypoliciesandsafetyprocedures.

Thispositionrequiresexperiencewithintheconstructionindustry,abilitytoprioritize,adapttochangingconditions,communicateclearlyandworkunderpressure.

Theyareresponsibleforeffectivecoordinationwiththemanagementteamtoensuresafety,quality,productionandschedulegoalsaremet.

Responsibilitiesincludebutarenotlimitedto,ensuringthemembersaresafe,ensuringthattheserviceworkiswellplannedoutwithneededresources,ensuringoptimumproductivity,andensuringthattheequipmentisoperational.

• Inspecting:
  
  Examineequipmenttodeterminetheextentofrepairs
• Diagnosing:
  
  Usecomputerizedtoolsandequipmenttoidentifymalfunctions
• Repairing:
  
  Fixdefectiveorwornparts,suchasbearings,pistons,andgears
• Overhauling:
  
  Testmajorcomponents,suchasengines,hydraulic systems,andelectricalsystems
• Maintaining:
  
  Performscheduledmaintenance,suchascleaningandlubricatingparts
• Adjusting:
  
  Adjustandrepairgraderbladesandloaderbucketassemblies
• Welding:
  
  Performminorweldingandbrazingwork
• Estimating:
  
  Prepareworkestimatesoflaborandpartscosts
• Reporting:
  
  Keeprecordsandmakereports
• Advising:
  
  Adviseonpartsandequipmentselection
• Instructing:
  
  Instructoperatorsonequipmentoperationandservicing

$40-$55/hr

• Hydraulicand Cableexperience
• Strongmechanicalaptitudeandabilitytoworkinphysicallydemandingenvironments.

  50+lbsandworkinvariousconditions(outdoors,confined spaces,heights,etc.).
• Willingnesstolearn,followsafetyguidelines,andworkaspartofateam.
