Fuel Truck Driver

Opportunity

• Fuel Truck Driver at a Growth-Oriented Energy Company.
• Work with a cohesive team to serve a small community.
• Reporting to the Trucking Supervisor/Manager, perform tank truck and trailer driver duties delivering petroleum products to company retail sites or commercial customers while following specific policies and procedures from written or verbal instructions.

• Receives delivery orders from the truck dispatcher, organizes delivery route to include preparations for delivery and calls dispatcher or leaves message on recorder after each delivery.
• Performs pre-delivery trip check and inspection following DOT safety specifications.
• Drives a tank truck or tractor/trailer to customer’s location, connects hose to tank and opens valves, reads gauges, records amounts delivered and leaves delivery ticket receipt with customer; loads truck and/or trailers at designated facilities following all rules and regulations.
• Returns to the terminal at the end of the workday and completes post-trip truck inspection, determines if repairs are needed, and accurately completes all regulatory and customary paperwork.
• Establishes/maintains good customer service, answers inquiries, and refers customers to the trucking supervisor when needed.
• Maintains assigned work areas and equipment in a clean, orderly manner performing housekeeping chores.
• Follows all safety rules, regulations, environmental procedures, and reports incidents to supervisor.
• Performs minor vehicle work such as changing light bulbs, replacing discharge valves, hose ears, etc.
• Performs other duties as required and requested.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Type A with Hazmat and TX endorsements.
• At least three years of experience as a professional truck driver in a Type A Vehicle.
• At least three years of experience driving a manual transmission (on either a CDL A or B vehicle).
• Petroleum or transporting liquids experience preferred.
• A clean driving abstract for the last five years.
• General mechanical knowledge and skills.
• Working knowledge of math required.
• Availability to work overtime as needed and ability to commit to DOT Hours of Service with Par Hawaii.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 60 pounds.
• Good communication skills, ability to work with deadlines, organizational ability, and problem solving.
• Ability to work in difficult conditions involving customers, operations and emergencies.

Position based on the Island of Oahu, reporting from either the Kalaeloa or Sand Island Trucking Yards and delivering product to customers across all of Oahu.

Pay rate: $37.00/hr plus discretionary bonus and a $10,000 Sign On Bonus ($5,000 after 6 months and $5,000 after 1 year).
