In the ED, the Director guides a modern emergency room built for speed and safety, featuring rapid triage, fast‑track, critical‑care bays, negative‑pressure capacity, telehealth‑enabled consults, real‑time throughput dashboards and a collaborative, innovative team serving a diverse community.
The Director reports to the Chief Nursing Officer, works closely with the ED Medical Director, and leads a supportive structure that includes nurse managers, charge RNs, clinical educators, triage leaders, coordinators and partners from pharmacy, respiratory therapy, lab, radiology, case management, social work and security.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic planning and staffing, including scheduling.
- Budget stewardship and financial management.
- Quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
- Emergency medical services (EMS) and transfer relations.
- Regulatory readiness, EMTALA compliance and disaster preparedness.
- Patient flow optimization and shared‑governance engagement.
