Position Summary
This is a long-term, full-time contract position through a temporary staffing agency supporting Liu Gong Canada. Holiday pay will be provided for candidates working full-time hours.
The Accountant will be responsible for all accounting and finance activities for the Canadian business, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end close, financial reporting, tax compliance, payroll support, and financial analysis. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of Canadian accounting practices, banking operations, foreign currency transactions, Canadian payroll regulations, and indirect tax requirements.
This position serves as a key financial resource for the Canadian operation and will interact regularly with sales managers, dealers, and business partners throughout Canada.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial Operations
- Serve as the primary accounting and finance contact for Liu Gong Canada.
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
- Process, verify, reconcile, and manage invoices and payments.
- Prepare journal entries, including recurring month-end entries.
- Execute monthly close activities according to established schedules.
- Maintain accounting records, files, and supporting documentation.
- Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
- Administer employee expense reports and reimbursements.
- Assist in preparing financial statements in accordance with ASPE and/or IFRS standards.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and support management reporting requirements.
- Maintain audit-ready financial records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with periodic physical inventories of fixed assets, equipment, machines, and parts inventory.
- Monitor adherence to company policies, accounting procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of accounting experience supporting Canadian operations.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards (ASPE and/or IFRS).
- Experience with GST/HST, PST, and Canadian tax compliance.
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, and month-end close.
- Knowledge of banking operations, foreign currency transactions, and account reconciliations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams.
