Project Accountant I
The Project Accountant I will be responsible for routine accounting tasks pertaining to their assigned project. Tasks include collecting, computing, classifying, recording, and verifying material billing data used for customer billing and maintaining project-related records. The Project Accountant I will assist the Project Accountant II's with their day-to-day deliverables. This person must be detailed oriented, have the ability to use sound judgement in making decisions, and have a basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
(GAAP) This position will require traveling to different job sites
- Assist the Project Accountant II with maintaining project related records
- Report the transfer of expenses into and out of project-related accounts to the Project Accountant II
- Review labor hours for work related to a project and communicate discrepancies to management
- Review account totals related to project assets and expenses
- Assist with the assessment of project variances
- Monitor cash flow practices by auditing and sending reports promptly
- Assess project profitability and report findings to management
- Report to management on opportunities for additional billings or cost savings
- Create project related billings to customers
- Assist with project close outs
- Respond to customer inquiries
- Travel as needed
- At least 1 year of relative accounting experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Some knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- High School diploma required, Associate degree preferred
- Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. (GAAP)
- Must be detail oriented
- Can use sound judgement in making decisions
- Ability to remain focus when working on day-to-day activities
