Non-Profit – Controller – Houston

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Controller to join our non profit organization in Houston. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities including financial reporting budgeting and compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field required;
• CPA preferred
• Proven experience as a Controller or similar role in the non profit sector
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles regulations and best practices
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities

• Manage and oversee the organizations financial operations
• Develop and monitor the annual budget in collaboration with senior management
• Prepare financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements
• Analyze financial data and provide recommendations for improvements
• Supervise accounting staff and provide training and guidance as needed
• Support audits and other regulatory reviews
• Participate in strategic financial planning and decision making processes
