Position: Secretary - Counselor/Registrar - JH (026-2027 School Year)

Counselor

Wage/Hour Status:
Non-Exempt

Pay Grade: AS03

Qualifications:

College hours, high school diploma or GED

General office management

Good skills in reading, writing, and spelling

Receptionist skills

Filing

50 WPM with accuracy

Computer experience

General office machines

Ability to work with people

Primary

Purpose:

Serve as secretary and provide clerical support to the counselor(s)

Major

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Type all correspondence.

* Maintain filing system.

* Enter data and maintain computer information.

* Perform receptionist duties: telephone communications, taking messages, setting up appointments, etc.

* Assist with student grade reporting.

* Assist with student scheduling.

* Assist with registration.

Equipment Used:

Personal computer, printer, copier, calculator, and fax machine

Working Conditions:

Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions. Repetitive hand motions. Prolonged use of computer.
