Position Overview
Our client. is seeking a highly motivated and entrepreneurial General Manager to lead the growth and daily operations of its Medical Equipment Division. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for an individual who thrives in a small business environment and is excited about building and expanding a medical equipment business from the ground up.
The General Manager will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, managing retail and operational activities, overseeing inventory and vendor relationships, and helping drive the company's transition toward a cash-pay and retail-focused medical equipment model.
This position requires a self-starter who can think strategically while remaining actively involved in day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate possesses strong sales, business development, leadership, and operational management skills and is comfortable wearing multiple hats in a growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
• Identify and secure new business opportunities through direct outreach, networking, community engagement, and relationship development.
• Develop partnerships with healthcare providers, senior living communities, rehabilitation facilities, employers, community organizations, and other referral sources.
• Establish and maintain relationships with key customers and business partners.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and vendor partnerships.
• Develop strategies to increase retail sales and market presence.
• Represent the company at networking events, community outreach activities, and industry functions.
Operations Management
• Oversee daily operations of the Medical Equipment Division.
• Manage inventory levels, purchasing activities, vendor relationships, and product availability.
• Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure efficient workflows and positive customer experiences.
• Assist with the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures.
Retail Operations
• Support and oversee retail storefront operations.
• Assist customers in selecting appropriate medical equipment and supplies.
• Ensure excellent customer service and customer satisfaction.
• Recommend new products and services based on customer needs and market demand.
Leadership & Team Support
• Collaborate with ownership to establish business goals and growth strategies.
• Assist in recruiting, training, and developing future team members as the division grows.
• Foster a positive, customer-focused culture.
• Serve as a key leader in the ongoing development of the Medical Equipment Division.
Qualifications
• Experience in retail sales, business development, operations management, healthcare services, medical equipment, or a related industry.
• Demonstrated success in sales, customer relationship management, and business growth.
• Experience negotiating contracts and developing business partnerships.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to contribute wherever needed.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in healthcare, medical equipment, home health, rehabilitation, mobility products, or related industries.
• Experience launching, growing, or managing a small business operation.
• Experience with inventory management, vendor relations, and retail operations.
• Knowledge of customer acquisition and local business development strategies.
