The Katy Visitor Center serves as the heart of our historic downtown, welcoming residents and visitors alike with information about local attractions, events, dining, shopping, and community activities. As a Visitor Center Clerk, you'll play an important role in promoting tourism, supporting local businesses, and showcasing everything that makes Katy a great place to visit, live, and explore.

Job Summary

The Visitor Center Clerk provides exceptional customer service to guests by offering information about local attractions, events, businesses, and city amenities. This position supports the daily operations of the Visitor Center, assists with tourism promotion efforts, and helps create a welcoming environment for all visitors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Service & Visitor Support

* Greet visitors and provide information on local attractions, restaurants, hotels, events, and points of interest.

* Answer visitor inquiries in person, by phone, email, and social media.

* Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming Visitor Center environment.

* Ensure brochures, maps, and promotional materials are stocked and readily available.

* Assist with coordinating Visitor Center events, tourism activities, and community programs.

Administrative & Office Support

* Track visitor statistics and maintain accurate records.

* Assist with inventory management and ordering of tourism and promotional materials.

* Support marketing and outreach efforts that promote Katy as a destination.

* Perform general clerical and administrative tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

* High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Friendly, outgoing personality with excellent customer service skills.

* Knowledge of Katy's history, attractions, businesses, and community resources preferred.

* Basic computer proficiency, including email, Microsoft Office, and social media platforms.

* Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

* Strong communication and organizational skills.

* Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied schedules as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in customer service, tourism, hospitality, marketing, or a related field.

* Familiarity with social media marketing, event planning, or community engagement activities.

License Requirements

* Valid State Driver's License may be required.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

* Work is primarily performed in a standard office environment.

* Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 35 pounds.

* Must be available to work flexible hours, including some weekends and holidays.
