Smiles of Katy in Katy, Texas is looking for a Practice Manager of Operations to join our team. Heartland Dental believes that to provide exceptional lifetime care for patients, we must hire and grow leaders who will support the business needs of each supported dental office and foster a strong team building culture. As a Practice Manager of Operations, you’ll be a valued business partner to the Doctor, helping guide and support the team to provide the best patient care to the community.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)- Strive toward mastery of the role by prioritizing and completing all PMO training to develop technical, commitment, and leadership skills
- Develop and pursue annual top 10 business goals and 16 personal development goals (5 technical, 5 commitment, 6 personality)
- Ensure goals and priorities of Doctors and teams are achieved through servant leadership
- Participate in Bell Leadership Training every 18–24 months
- Support the Doctor Led, Hygiene Driven, Operations focus philosophy through monthly synergy meetings, weekly team meetings, and strong morning huddles
- Focus and prioritize team efforts to support doctors in achieving their Top 10 Professional goals
- Create alignment with doctors through daily one-on-ones, morning huddles, and weekly touch points on communication and support needs
- Serve as a business partner for the Doctor by collaborating on quarterly and annual financial goals
- Assist the Doctor in prioritizing, planning, and blocking schedules for continuing education through Doctor Education and Leadership programs
- Understand the benefits and metrics of DMP and help the Doctor monitor progress
- Identify and support future team growth by selecting candidates (BA, DA, Hygienists) who are an 80% match for both the position and the practice
- Partner with Doctors to identify skills needed for open positions and assemble the appropriate selection team within the practice
- Onboard new team members through partnerships with recruiting and support offices
- Support team members to prioritize and plan their training through Core Essentials and beyond for growth in their roles

- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or 3–5 years’ leadership experience (in a professional office, hospitality, retail, banking, medical, etc.)
- Experience working in a fast-paced and customer-centric environment
- Ability to analyze processes and information, identify problems and trends, and develop effective solutions and strategies
- Excellent communication, leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
- Trustworthy; maintain patient confidentiality and team ethics
- 1+ years of experience in a dental or medical setting
- 1+ years of experience with insurance billing and accounts receivable
- Dentrix or other dental software experience
- Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties of the position
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Availability to attend virtual training sessions (or in-person once conditions allow) periodically throughout the year (some travel may be involved)
- TB test is required for all new hires in dental office positions where applicable; may be arranged during the pre-employment process. Not applicable in the state of FL & TN
