Pay Grade: I00 – (Pay Based on Years of Experience)
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
- Knowledge of subjects assigned
- ESL certification required for ELA, Reading and self‑contained Special Education teaching assignments
- General knowledge of design and delivery issues related to instructional alignment for best results in student achievement
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Student teaching or approved internship experience
- Physically able to monitor student discipline and progress and meet other student needs as required
- Physically able to move about the classroom to perform formative assessments and facilitate small and large group instruction
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
What success looks like for this role- Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements and demonstrate preparation in Eduphoria/Forethought as required by district policy.
- Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
- Present subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations.
- Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that accommodate individual student needs.
- Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
- Cooperate with special education teachers to modify curricula for special education students per Individual Education Plans (IEP).
- Collaborate with staff to plan and implement instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements.
- Plan and supervise assignments of teacher aides and volunteers.
- Implement technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
- Assist students in analyzing and improving study methods and habits.
- Consistently assess student achievement through formal and informal testing and use results to plan instructional activities.
- Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned and sponsor outside activities approved by the campus principal.
- Serve as a positive role model for students.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
- Manage student behavior and administer discipline according to board policies, administrative regulations, and IEPs.
- Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Assist in selecting books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
- Maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
- Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
- Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
- Participate in campus and district staff development programs.
- Demonstrate professional, ethical, and responsible behavior.
- Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
- Compile and maintain all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents as required.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on committees as required.
- Articulate the district’s mission and goals to the community and solicit support in realizing the mission.
- Demonstrate awareness of district and community needs and initiate activities to meet identified needs.
