Qualifications:

• College hours for Title I campus 48 required or a score of 464 on the Para‑Pro test
• College hours, high school diploma or GED for Non‑Title I campus
• Proficient keyboarding, word processing, and file maintenance skills
• Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
• School office experience or volunteer experience (preferred)
• Detail oriented
• Ability to work within deadlines and handle interruptions
• Physical ability to move textbooks
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate

Primary

Purpose:

Assist the classroom teacher with instructional needs as appropriate for the grade and subject area.

Major

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain all workroom equipment, i.e., copiers, laminator, etc.
• Assist classroom teachers with worksheets, tests, forms, and other documents as requested.
• Assist as needed in the classroom, clinic, cafeteria, receptionist duties, student registration, attendance, etc.
• Comply with standard practices and ethical conduct toward students, instructional personnel, staff, and the administration.
• Maintain confidentiality of all student information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions: Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing; stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
