Director of Family and Children Ministries

The Director of Children and Family Ministries leads and directs a strategy that ensures children from birth through 5th grade and their families are equipped to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Working together with the volunteers of the Children and Family Ministries Team, they facilitate all aspects of faith formation ministry, including Children’s Moments in weekly worship services, Children’s Sunday school, weekday ministries, and summer programming.

Part time applicants would be expected to lead and direct the ministry in coordination with the Children and Family Ministries Team, lead the weekly Children’s moment in Sunday worship services, teach and/or facilitate the Children’s Sunday school, and lead in the development and implementation of summer programming. This would be a hybrid role, with required Sunday hours, weekly/monthly staff and team meetings, and other self-directed hours as needed.

Full time applicants would be expected to fulfill all of the part time requirements, with the addition of further development of ministries. This may include the development of mid‑week ministries, parenting studies, volunteer recruitment and training, and other ministries. Full time employees would be expected to be present in the office during regular office hours unless otherwise fulfilling ministry tasks.

• An associate’s degree or higher, preferably in an applicable field
• Professional certification in Children’s Ministry
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Children’s and Family Ministry. Consistent, active volunteer experience will be considered.
• A well developed Biblical and evangelical theology
• Strong leadership, time management, project management and organizational skills
• Effectiveness in working with and leading a team of volunteers
• Experience with recruitment and training of volunteers
• Ability to convey scripture and theology in an understandable way to children
• Creativity in developing ministries
• Friendly, honest, and trustworthy personality

Resurrection Global Methodist Church is a growing congregation that features a diversity of ages and races. Our main service averages over 225 with an average of 20 children. In addition, our Hispanic service averages 65 in attendance. We are currently meeting at Katy High School and are looking to purchase land and begin building within the next year. We are a very supportive congregation that is active with a variety of local mission’s organizations, including Katy Christian Ministries and Christ Clinic.
