Job Summary

Reports to:

Principal. Duty days: 187. Exempt position. Pay Grade: I00. Teacher Hiring Schedule based on years of experience.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level.
  • ESL certification required for K‑5 RLA or self‑contained special education or general education classroom assignments.
  • ESL certification preferred for Math, Science, Social Studies teaching assignments.
  • Student teaching or approved internship.
  • Physical ability to monitor student discipline and progress, perform formative assessments and facilitate instruction.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
Instructional Strategies
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and Texas Education Agency guidelines.
  • Prepare lessons with accommodations and differentiation for diverse learning styles.
  • Collaborate with staff to plan instructional goals and best practices.
  • Design and adapt learning experiences incorporating digital tools to promote student learning.
  • Assist in selecting instructional materials.
Student Growth and Development
  • Plan and use appropriate strategies, assessment, materials, and technology that reflect accommodations for individual student needs.
  • Collaborate with special‑education teachers to modify curricula per IEP guidelines.
  • Assist students in improving study methods and habits.
  • Monitor student achievement through assessment and use results to plan instruction.
  • Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned.
Classroom Management and Organization
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Manage student behavior and administer discipline per Board policies and the Discipline Management Plan.
  • Take precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities.
Communication
  • Maintain open communication with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
  • Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
  • Present information accurately and clearly.
  • Show professional behavior by following Texas educators' code of ethics.
  • Support campus and district mission and goals.
Professional Growth and Development
  • Engage in and implement new learning from professional development.
  • Keep informed of state, district, and school regulations.
  • Maintain required reports and records.
  • Attend faculty meetings and serve on staff committees.
