Qualifications:
- Master’s degree
- Possess Principal/Mid-Management Certificate
- Minimum five years classroom teaching experience or equivalent instructional coaching
- Demonstrated ability as an instructional leader
- Certified teacher appraiser/T‑TESS AEL Certified
- Proven leadership skills
Primary
Purpose:
Work with the Principal to coordinate and administrate the various programs of the school within the framework of the philosophy, goals, and policy established by the board, within the status and standards of regulatory agencies, and in accordance with administrative regulations.
Major
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Principal with overall program planning, supervision, and evaluation for the assigned school.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of programs and projects; submit accurate reports as required by law, district policy, or regulation.
- Interact effectively with students to promote positive attitudes toward school programs.
- Assist faculty and staff in identifying, defining, and solving instruction‑related problems.
- Utilize instructional staff and support services (intra‑district and inter‑district) to maintain and improve the instructional program.
- Facilitate teachers’ implementation of concepts and content in all instructional areas.
- Conduct instructional observations and conferences to provide diagnostic and prescriptive feedback for growth.
- Facilitate staff development, in‑service activities, workshops, and support materials.
- Implement discipline management system that produces a productive campus environment.
- Assist faculty and staff in maintaining a learning environment that enhances academic, physical, social, and emotional development.
- Create and maintain a positive climate for campus staff.
- Exhibit and encourage high professional and ethical standards.
- Support, communicate, and interpret district goals, policies, procedures, and directives to staff and supervise their implementation.
- Demonstrate professional interactions and support for cooperative decisions.
- Maintain appropriate poise for situations.
- Communicate school goals, policies, procedures, and regulations to the broader community.
- Maintain a positive image of the school by engaging community members and agencies.
Equipment Used: Personal computer, printer, copier, fax machine.
Working Conditions: Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions; occasional district‑wide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
