Right At School is hiring part‑time, split‑shift Before and After School educators for the 2026‑2027 school year in the Katy School District. The position is available to start in July/August 2026 and will continue through the fall term.
ScheduleMust be available Monday through Friday. Schedules may vary slightly. Sample split‑shift times for participating schools are listed below:
- Leonard Elementary – AM: 6:15 am–8:20 am; PM: 3:15 pm–6:30 pm
- Mitzi Cross – AM: 6:15 am–8:20 am; PM: 3:15 pm–6:30 pm
- Winborn Elementary – PM only: 2:45 pm–6:30 pm
- Morton Ranch Elementary – AM: 6:15 am–7:50 am; PM: 3:00 pm–6:30 pm
- Ursula Stephens Elementary – AM: 6:15 am–8:20 am; PM: 3:15 pm–6:30 pm
Hourly rate $15–$17, commensurate with education and experience.
LocationOn‑site at the listed elementary schools within the Katy School District.
Requirements- High School Diploma or GED
- Age 18 or older
- At least one year of verifiable childcare experience in a licensed group setting, working with children under 13
- Ability to lift 25 lbs
- First Aid and CPR certification (in‑person)
- Cleared tuberculosis test
- State‑specific requirements (e.g., mandated reporter training, TB test)
- Proof of high school diploma/GED
- Attend daily program meetings to review goals, share ideas, discuss progress, and promote collaboration.
- Prepare and lead daily activities that align with program objectives, including structured fitness and educational curriculum.
- Model positive guidance and effective classroom management to maintain a safe and nurturing environment.
- Monitor the environment for safety, address hazards, and follow all protocols; document attendance, incidents, and observations.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and school personnel.
- Outstanding customer service and relationship‑building skills
- Strong teamwork abilities
- Experience working with children under 13 for at least one year
- Commitment to inspire a love of learning and healthy living
- Flexibility to support additional local programs as needed
- Excellent communication skills with varied audiences
- Ability to meet state‑specific requirements (FA/CPR, mandated reporter, TB test, etc.)
