QualificationsCollege hours for Title I campus 48 required or a score of 464 on the Para Pro test
College hours, high school diploma or GED required for Non-Title I campus
Paraprofessional aide certificate required once employed
Ability to work with students and staff
Ability to manage a flexible schedule
School experience or volunteer experience preferred
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work within deadlines
Primary PurposeThe primary purpose of this position is to collaborate with the Campus EB Specialist, ESL teacher, and core content-area teacher(s) to provide high-quality ESL support to secondary emergent bilingual (EB) students ensuring compliance with and alignment to federal, state and local policies and ESL program requirements.
Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesEquipment Used:
Personal computer, copier, and printer.
Working Conditions:
Maintain emotional control under stress of frequent interruptions, multiple tasks, deadlines, and technical problems/delays. Occasional changes in working hours for professional development and other events. Frequent standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, pulling and pushing; prolonged use of a computer and repetitive hand motions. Occasional lifting over ten pounds. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures.
