QualificationsCollege hours (15) or high school diploma or GED (with a passing score of 464 on the Para Pro test)
Ability to work with children with disabilities
Ability to follow verbal and written instruction
Ability to communicate effectively
Knowledge of general office equipment
Accuracy in record keeping and form completion
Ability to keep information confidential
Paraprofessional Educational Aide II certificate required once employed
Valid CPI certification preferred (can be obtained after employment)
Primary PurposeData tracking, instructional, and student care duties as assigned.
Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesPersonal computer, copier, calculator, fax machine, laminator, Smart boards.
Working ConditionsMaintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, and pulling; occasional running, heavy lifting and carrying, 45 pounds and over daily, positioning of students, moving classroom or adaptive equipment, noise exposure, biological exposure to bacteria and communicable diseases; exposure to physical and verbal outbursts by students. May be required to utilize CPI strategies to manage disruptive students, including restraint.
