PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The teaching faculty is responsible for providing learning activities and support that achieve course objectives and contribute to the educational environment. Primary responsibilities are to plan, develop, and teach courses within the curriculum to facilitate student learning. Adjunct faculty are hired part‑time on a semester‑by‑semester basis, contingent upon system needs. They may teach a maximum of five classes per academic year.

- Ability to use effective strategies to engage students in their learning.
The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking over rough or uneven surfaces, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities, or recurring lifting of moderately heavy items up to 50 pounds and ability to climb an 8‑foot steep ladder. The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics such as above‑average agility, dexterity, and hand‑eye coordination.
WORKSCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS
- Equipment used includes PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment, and any specialized equipment standard within the discipline or industry.
- Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position.
- Work is performed in a climate‑controlled classroom and/or lab environment with minimal exposure to safety hazards.
- Hours will vary depending on class time; instructors are required to meet with classes at all scheduled times and be available to students outside of class instruction.
- Associate’s degree in machining or manufacturing technology with a minimum of 3 years of work experience in the field; OR Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering or mechanical or industrial engineering technology with a minimum of 3 years of work experience in the field.
$59.80 per contact hour.
