A Day in the Life
As a Process Engineer
, you will drive the implementation of continuous improvement and lean principles across our dynamic and robust Distribution Center. Based in West Houston, TX
, and carrying over 50k SKUs, you will optimize production processes, foster cross-functional collaboration, and provide data-driven insights to leadership. You will play a key role in shaping the site’s long-term vision and value stream roadmap by staying current on emerging technologies and process redesigns.
- Process Optimization: Implement lean methodologies and sustain continuous improvement principles throughout the Distribution Center.
- Standardization: Develop and maintain job instructions, time studies, facility layouts, and standard data charts to ensure operational consistency.
- Strategic Planning: Align process documentation and work instructions with production and quality objectives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with various departments to ensure process changes are compatible with high-volume manufacturing requirements.
- Data Analysis: Present improvement opportunities and data insights to the Director of Operations and the leadership team.
- Mentorship: Train associates in continuous improvement tools and concepts to foster a culture of operational excellence.
- Compliance: Ensure all processes and data handling comply with company policies and data privacy standards.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or a related Engineering discipline.
- Experience: 3–5 years in a high volume warehousing environment including auditing, analysis, and successful implementation of performance enhancement initiatives.
- Certifications: Valid State Driver’s License (Required);
Six Sigma Green Belt (Preferred). - Reliability: Consistent on‑site attendance and punctuality are essential for meeting business needs and leadership presentations.
- Extras: Experience with Kardex systems is a plus.
