Akkodis is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer for a DIRECT HIRE position in the Katy, TX area. The desired candidate will have 5+ years of previous experience in electrical power design for large infrastructure projects. The Sr. EE shall be an analytical professional specializing in medium and low voltage switch gear design; power system planning, operation and control; and distributed energy systems engineering and integration.

Collaborative communicator who is focused on building relationships and promoting synergy across business lines. The Sr. EE will manage and be involved in all phases of projects from pre-proposal involvement to design, production, and construction. The position also requires conducting meetings with clients and mentoring junior engineers and designers on the team. This is an excellent opportunity to support an exciting company in the electrical engineering industry.

Remote 1 day/week, and off every other Friday

• Manage overall design of assigned power systems projects, including engine generators, paralleling switch gear, protective relaying, medium and low voltage electrical distribution equipment, lighting systems, and associated electrical schemes and controls
• Manage preparation of detailed calculations, drawings, and technical specifications
• Manage development of procurement documents, including drawings and specifications for design and construction phases
• Prepare and evaluate proposals, technical reports, and cost estimates
• Conduct detailed engineering analyses required for procurement and construction purposes
• Conduct meetings and build relationships with the client to review project details and requirements
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineering and technical professionals
• Conduct all required electrical specification sections
• Mentor junior engineers and designers, provide design direction and constructive feedback

• Bachelors Degree in an Engineering related field is REQUIRED.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant EE design experience is required.
• MUST HAVE design experience for industrial systems like water/wastewater, oil/gas, etc.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) is REQUIRED.
• Experienced in the design of construction documents.
• 5 to 10 years of related engineering experience desired, ideally in the consulting field, or working with a full-service Architecture/Engineering Firm (A/E) or Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing (MEP) firm
• Experience in water and wastewater treatment processes is a plus
• A proactive, solution-oriented approach to challenges, with a focus on team success.
• Strong ability to foster and maintain professional, cross-functional relationships.
