Optimized Process Designs (OPD), a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is seeking an Instrumentation Associate to join their team. This role is responsible for specifying, purchasing, and actively participating in the instrumentation engineering facets of an EPC project from early development phase to commissioning and turnover.

Headquarters in Katy, TX. Monday – Friday. This position is not open to visa sponsorship.

What You Will Do- Establish a "safety first" culture.
- Review and mark‑up instruments on P&IDs to ensure compliance with company, client and ISA standards.
- Select and specify instrumentation (transmitters, gauges, switches, etc.) for Pressure, Level, Temperature & Flow applications.
- Collaborate with instrument vendors for quotes and perform technical bid evaluations.
- Develop datasheets for instrumentation.
- Review instrument installation details and equipment packages for compliance with client and project specifications.
- Coordinate design activities with cross‑functional teams (Process, Mechanical, Civil/Structural, Vendor, etc.).
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or another engineering discipline.
- Experience in the design and procurement of instrumentation.
- Experience with Emerson & Ashcroft instrumentation.
- Experience with Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) Software.
- Experience with Fisher control valve sizing software.
- Experience with FE Sizer software.
- Experience with Bluebeam Software.
- Working knowledge of Codes and Standards such as API, PIP, ISA, ASME, ISO, etc.
