Optimized Process Designs (OPD), a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is seeking an Instrumentation Associate to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants hands‑on experience supporting EPC projects from early design through commissioning and turnover.
The position is based in Katy, TX, Monday–Friday.
What You Will Do- Review and markup P&IDs to ensure instrumentation meets company, client, and ISA standards.
- Select and specify instrumentation such as transmitters, gauges, and switches for pressure, level, temperature, and flow applications.
- Work with instrument vendors to request quotes and support technical bid evaluations.
- Develop and maintain instrument datasheets.
- Review equipment vendor packages to confirm instrumentation compliance with project requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers across disciplines (Process, Mechanical, Civil/Structural, etc.) to support coordinated project design.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or another engineering discipline.
- Experience in the specification of instruments.
- Experience with instrumentation database and sizing software.
- Working knowledge of codes and standards such as API, PIP, ISA, ASME, ISO, etc.
