The CAD Technician is part of a civil engineering design team involved in a variety public infrastructure and transportation improvement projects (i.e., streets, drainage, water, sanitary sewer, etc.). The position is a technical support role in our Katy or The Woodlands office.
Responsibilities- Using established CAD standards to prepare electronic drawings from minimum marked-up plans and/or verbal instruction by engineers/designers
- Oversight of CAD systems management, refinement and evolution of standards
- Organizing and scheduling your own work to accomplish project goals within established budgets and schedules
- Coordination with engineers and other design team members
- Plotting and assembling construction plans
At a minimum, candidates must meet the following educational and professional requirements:
Education/Certification- High School graduate or GED required
- Post-high school technical coursework, certification or degree in computer drafting/design or related field preferred
- Responsive and results-oriented in service to clients
- 1-4 years of civil CAD experience and understanding of a variety of projects including public infrastructure (i.e., streets, drainage, water, sanitary sewer, sidewalks etc.)
- Proficient in the latest version of Bentey Microstation and Open Roads Designer or AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Demonstrated ability to develop solid working relationships with other team members
- Ability to quickly adapt to and adopt new CAD standards and procedures
- Commitment to quality in the design and presentation of drawings
