Role Overview

DEPCOM has an immediate need for a Sr. Electrical Engineer
. This position offers flexibility to work remotely from one of our sites located in Bedminster, NJ;
Scottsdale, AZ; or Houston, TX.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as Technical Resource: Act as the team's escalation point for complex or ambiguous engineering challenges—including unusual fault conditions, non‑standard equipment integration, and design scenarios requiring first‑principles analysis.
  • Develop Electrical Drawing Packages: Collaborate to create comprehensive electrical drawing packages for PV and Energy Storage projects from initial design through Issue For Construction (IFC).
  • Champion Technical Excellence: Strengthen deliverables, identify missing elements, and drive solutions that raise the bar without compromising schedule.
  • Contract Scope of Work: Review and author contract scopes, defining deliverables, boundaries, and project requirements.
  • Process Improvement: Identify workflow, design standard, and documentation improvements; develop repeatable processes to increase efficiency and quality.
  • Cost/Benefit Analyses: Perform analyses for installation architectures, grounding schemes, and major equipment.
  • Client and Stakeholder Interface: Engage with clients and stakeholders to support design and delivery of power plants; demonstrate intellectual curiosity and drive understanding of underlying problems.
  • Travel: Travel up to 25% to job sites and office locations as required.
  • Culture Champion: Model DEPCOM’s values and principle‑based management philosophy; foster a team‑oriented attitude and seek mutually beneficial solutions.
Basic Qualifications
  • Applied knowledge of Electrical Codes and Standards.
  • Experience in Power Infrastructure Design.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • PE licensure or path to licensure within 2 years.
  • Commitment to continual learning and professional growth, staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Experience identifying and pursuing innovative solutions that create value for customers while acting with integrity and stewardship.
Compensation

We anticipate paying $120,000 – $150,000 per year, with variable pay available as a monetary bonus or in another form.
