Environmental Consultant

STAR Geoenvironmental LLC is looking for an experienced environmental professional to join our growing team in the Houston area. We are looking for someone who enjoys a combination of field work and technical work and can take ownership of assignments with limited supervision. The position will support environmental and radiological projects for federal, state, and private-sector clients. Some projects will require travel.

• Plan and perform environmental field investigations.
• Oversee drilling and collect soil, groundwater, and other environmental samples.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, laboratories, clients, and project team members.
• Maintain clear field notes, photographs, sampling records, and other project documentation.
• Review laboratory data and help develop tables, figures, and project findings.
• Prepare Phase I/II assessments, investigation reports, environmental compliance documents, and other technical reports.
• Support radiological surveys, sampling, characterization, and related field activities.
• Follow project health and safety requirements and make sound decisions when field conditions change.
• Communicate proactively with project managers and keep projects moving.

• Bachelor's degree in geology, environmental science, environmental/civil engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant environmental consulting experience, including field investigations and technical report preparation.
• Ability to independently perform and coordinate field activities with limited supervision.
• Strong technical writing, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel for project assignments, including extended field assignments when required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to meet client and project-specific access, safety, training, and background requirements.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred; current 8-hour refresher preferred.
• Radiological field experience and/or radiation safety training is a plus.
• PG, PE, GIT, or EIT certification/licensure is a plus.
