SVP, Commercial Lender

About the Role

As a Commercial Lender, you will serve as a member of the Lending division responsible for the development and management of a commercial loan portfolio. Your role includes prospecting for quality loan opportunities, maintaining the portfolio, and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.

• Develop and manage a commercial loan portfolio for the bank.
• Focus on making high‑quality loans, including C&I loans and owner‑occupied CRE loans; knowledge of SBA loans is required.
• Act as a calling officer and prospect for new loans.
• Demonstrate superior credit skills and loan management abilities for presenting new loans for approval and maintaining the existing loan portfolio.
• Develop measurable goals and objectives that focus on both customer service and long‑term profits.
• Work closely with management to formulate strategic planning goals and objectives to grow the bank’s loan portfolio and net income while providing loan services to customers and cultivating relationships to drive loan growth.
• Keep abreast of related industry and professional trends and products to ensure the bank’s services, policies, and staff proficiencies remain effective and profitable.
• Work toward and assist in the positive image and growth of the bank.
• Comply with all federal, state, and local regulatory rules and regulations governing financial institutions, as well as all company policies and procedures.
• Complete and pass all required regulatory compliance training as assigned.
• Participate in project meetings.
• Provide secondary oversight of lobby services.
• Manage personal banking, cash operations, and loan floor supervisors.
• Provide daily oversight in the absence of the market supervisor or president.
• Perform any additional duties and tasks assigned by management.

• Sound knowledge of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Strong knowledge of compliance with federal and state regulations pertaining to the banking industry.
• Strong knowledge of lending products and services.
• Self‑motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to handle high‑pressure situations.
• Exceptional management, organizational, planning, time‑management, and project‑management skills.
• Excellent written, communication, and customer‑relations skills.
• Ability to set strategic goals and ensure high quality of products and services.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a business‑related field required.
• Minimum of three years of commercial lending experience.
• Formal credit training preferred.
