Product Design Engineer – Igloo Products Corp.

Responsibilities- Build and manage designs for new consumer products from concept to high‑volume manufacturing.
- Collaborate with Industrial Design, Operations, and Product Managers to deliver cost‑effective mechanical design solutions and detailed engineering drawings.
- Develop custom fixtures and manufacturing equipment.
- Modify existing product designs to improve quality, manufacturing efficiency, and reduce unit costs.
- Create CAD files and mechanical drawings using Pro‑E Creo.
- Engineer products from concept sketches and rough dimensions.
- Design for manufacturability, focusing on fit, form, and function.
- Detail designs for accurate fabrication of molds, tooling, and dies.
- Resolve design problems with innovative, cost‑effective solutions.
- Identify cost‑reduction opportunities in existing products.
- Represent Product Engineering in New Product Development meetings.

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 1 to 3 years of CAD experience.
- Proficiency in Pro/Engineer Creo.
- Knowledge of design for injection molding and/or blow molding.
- Working knowledge of plastics processing.
- Computer skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience using Windchill.
- Strong English communication skills.
- Mathematical ability for tolerance analysis.
- Detail‑oriented, innovative, and good verbal communication skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and creativity.
- Strong problem‑solving ability.
- Standing and walking for up to 12 hours, including brisk pacing and occasional stair climbing.
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and working in low or awkward positions.
- Lifting up to 25 lb repeatedly (operator‑level) or up to 50 lb multiple times per day (technician‑level), with mechanical aids when possible.
- Use of both hands for tool operation, adjustment, and assembly.
- Visual acuity of 20/40 (with or without correction) for inspection and equipment operation.
- Work in seasonal temperatures ranging from 100–120 °F in summer to cooler conditions in winter.
- High noise levels; hearing protection will be provided and required.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as ear protection, safety glasses, steel‑toed shoes, gloves, and protective clothing may be required.
