The Loader Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. The Loader Operator must also clean, maintain, and secure all equipment as directed by policies, procedures, and operator manuals.

• Operate front-end loader to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage areas, to feed conveyors, hoppers, and to load trucks or railcars.
• Start engine, shift gears, press pedals, and turn steering wheel to operate loader.
• Move levers to lower and tilt bucket, and drive front-end loader to force bucket into bulk materials.
• Move levers to raise and tilt bucket when filled, drive vehicle to work site, and move levers to dump material.
• Verify amount of aggregate in storage bins and fill hoppers to ensure adequate quantity and quality of raw materials.
• Perform routine maintenance on loaders, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
• Participate in ensuring the quality and quantity of raw materials meets established standards.
• Ensure assigned performance indicators are met.
• Work toward improvement of the plant and surrounding area.
• Follow procedures to ensure plant compliance with state, federal, and local regulations.
• Participate in minor maintenance and visual evaluations of plant and equipment.
• Consult with plant superintendent, batch person, and other personnel to resolve problems and recommend solutions.
• May haul cement and/or additives from storage area in bulk or bags.
• Adhere to CEMEX, OSHA, and MSHA rules, wear safety equipment while on plant grounds.
• Meet or exceed company safety standards.
• Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management.

High School diploma or equivalent.

• Read, write, and speak English.
• Bilingual is a plus.

• Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors.
• Must wear protective equipment while at the location.

• Walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree.
• Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
• Job involves sitting most of the time, but also walking or standing for brief periods.
• Regularly talk and hear to communicate with employees/visitors and operate safely around heavy equipment.
• Perform all job functions, including pushing, turning, and/or pulling controls.
