As our new Machinist II , you will be operating and setting up both manual and CNC machines to produce high-quality components that power Grundfos pump solutions. What you will be doing:As a key part of the Manufacturing Operations team, you'll create impact by producing precision-machined components that directly support Grundfos's mission to pioneer solutions to the world's water and climate challenges.
Your main responsibilities include:Perform job assignments on manual and CNC machines including lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses, and other standard shop equipment
Interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and sequence of operations
Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and materials; measure and mark reference points for machining
Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions and make necessary adjustments
Set up CNC lathes and mills, producing products with minimal program adjustments while maintaining close tolerances
Deburr finished parts and ensure quality before advancing them to the next production stage
Please note this is a 2nd shift position with a requirement to be flexible to working other shifts as needed
What makes you a great fit:Above all, you are a detail-oriented machinist with strong blueprint reading skills, proficiency in precision measuring instruments, and the ability to hold close tolerances across multiple machine types. We would also imagine that you have:
Proficiency operating manual machines (lathes, mills, grinders) and CNC machines with demonstrated ability to hold close tolerances
Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
Proficient use of precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers (/OD), depth gauges, and indicators
Advanced math skills including geometry and algebra for material fabrication calculations
It is a plus if you also:
Have experience running multiple machines simultaneously
Are proficient tooling knowledge with ability to select appropriate metal cutting tools for various applications
Have prior experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
The salary range for this position is $26.00 to $34.00 per hour. Individual pay will be determined based on market location and the candidate’s profile. The range listed is just one component of Grundfos’s total compensation and benefits package for employees.
