Overview
Texas Oncology is looking for an Oncology Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) – Gyn/Onc to join our team in Katy, Texas. This position is Monday‑Friday, with no weekends, holidays, or on‑call duties.
This role will be assigned a level (I, II, or Senior) based on the candidate’s experience.

Long‑Term Incentive Plan (LTIP)The LTIP is an incentive program that vests over a three‑year period, tied to individual performance and the operational success of Texas Oncology. Awards are discretionary and subject to continued employment.
Responsibilities- Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
- Assess health status by interviewing patients and reviewing medical history.
- Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional material.
- Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
- Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
- Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record the information in the patient chart.
- Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals, and future appointments for patients.
- Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient’s chart.
- Facilitate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care.
- Assist patients in locating available community resources.
- Inter‑professional collaboration.
- Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
Education / Training
Level I- Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program (BSN preferred).
- RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Maintain continuing education requirements.
- 0–3 years of nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred.
- Minimum five (5) years of nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology strongly preferred.
- Oncology certification preferred.
The work environment may involve exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and medical preparations common to an oncology/hematology clinic. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities.
Physical RequirementsFull range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination; standing and walking for extended periods; occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs.; corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
