This is a part-time position working Monday through Thursday every week.

Job Summary:

Demonstrate proficient infusion skills. Provides professional nursing care to assigned patients in need of intravenous treatment. Administers intravenous therapeutic treatments as directed by a physician. Determines appropriate venipuncture and/or catheter site. Observes patients' IV treatment and records observations in patient medical records. Provides information to patients and families regarding intravenous treatment and procedures.

Qualifications/

Educational Requirements:

  • Be a licensed nurse, with a current license.
  • Minimum of one year of infusion nursing experience.
  • Work positively and favorably with patients, families, and staff.
Responsibilities/essential functions:
  • Perform the infusion therapy as directed by physician orders.*
  • Establish intravenous access per policy and procedure. *
  • Observe, assess, and document symptoms via nurses note timely. *
  • Monitor reactions and patient progress. *
  • Educate patients and/or caregivers on disease processes, medications, side effects/risks.
  • Schedule follow up appointment for next therapy. *
  • Notify the physician and other personnel (CEO) of change in the patient’s condition. *
  • Perform skill outline in the agency’s approved policy and procedure manual. *
  • Update clinical records according to policy and procedures. *
  • Update knowledge and skills by attending in-service programs, continuing education programs, seminars, and self-study programs annually. *
  • Perform inventory count before and after clinic daily, communicate via email.

  • Adhere to safe nursing practice standards.
  • Maintain professionalism with patient and client staff.
  • Obtain satisfaction surveys from patients prn.
  • Collect co-pays as required.
  • Call no-show patients prn.
  • Be knowledgeable about medications to be administered. Reference RxTool Kit.
  • Mix medication per policy and procedure (never before patient arrival).
  • Adhere to Medicaid and Medicare regulations. *
  • Clinical Research.
