Responsibilities

The Cashier’s duties and responsibilities include greeting and checking out shoppers when they are ready to make a purchase. Cashiers also take orders, answer questions about products and always keep a positive and engaging attitude. Serve customers in a fast-paced environment. Able to work as part of a team while working closely with co-workers.

• Greet and acknowledge customers.
• Check out customers in a timely and efficient manner.
• Answer phone calls with a helpful and positive disposition.
• Take walk-in and phone orders from customers.
• Be attentive to customer needs in a timely manner.
• Provide a positive experience as customers shop including answering all questions.

• Prior experience as a cashier is preferred but not required.
• Working knowledge of electronic equipment like cash register and POS.
• Requires strong math skills with ability to count money and balance cash drawers.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Customer satisfaction oriented.
• Thrive in a team environment.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work shifts, over weekends, and on holidays, as needed.
• Must be able to get along with coworkers while working in close quarters.

The Best Stop Supermarket is a family owned cajun market that specializes in boudin and cracklins, which is a delicacy originating in South Louisiana. Along with boudin and cracklins, the Best Stop carries a wide variety of specialty meats that are seasoned and marinated with the finest cajun seasonings. The first Best Stop opened in 1986 and after 39 years, the family prides themself on being the best specialty meats originating from Louisiana.

In addition to specialty meats and boudin, the Katy location serves premade gumbo, crawfish etouffee, rice dressing, deboned stuffed chicken, fresh sausage, marinated meats, crawfish tails, king cakes, hamburger patties and all the favorite Best Stop Cajun seasonings and sauces. The Katy location includes a deli that cooks to order some of the Best Stop favorites.
