Job DescriptionReports To: Maintenance Area Supervisor
Duty Days: 260 Days
Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt
Pay Grade: A04
Qualifications- Texas Operator’s License
- Have knowledge and ability to perform in all trades
- Physically able to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to follow instruction, written or oral
- Ability to comprehend verbal and written English
Help maintain the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times.
Major Duties and Responsibilities- Assume responsibility to make minor repairs of any nature in the facilities owned and operated by the district including electrical, plumbing, painting, and/or general maintenance.
- Perform repair and/or new work as requested on approved work order request.
- Recognize when a specialized trade is needed to solve problems.
- Examine district-owned facilities on a regular basis.
- Take all safety precautions related to all trades and report to Maintenance Supervisor any hazardous situations.
- May be required to work night shift.
- May be assigned to work order crew, night PM crew, or locker repair.
- Available to work after-hours call-outs and weekends.
Power tools (drill, saw, etc.), hand tools, ladder, light truck or van and computer.
Working ConditionsContinual walking and standing; frequent heavy lifting and carrying; climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Work outside and inside. Exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, and odors. Exposure to mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards. Work around moving objects or vehicles.
