The (USA) Digital Asset Technician, Skilled Facilities Maintenance, is responsible for executing preventive maintenance and repairs to ensure the optimal operation and safety of equipment and systems. This role involves diagnosing issues using technical resources, performing necessary repairs, managing maintenance documentation, and coordinating with business partners to support operational needs. The position requires adherence to regulatory standards and company policies while promoting continuous improvement and collaboration.
The technician contributes to maintaining high-quality automation systems through effective problem-solving, timely response to maintenance needs, and supporting a culture of integrity and accountability. About the team:
The Facilities Services Automation Maintenance Team is dedicated to maintaining, repairing, and servicing automation systems to support store operations and enhance customer value. The team follows preventive maintenance schedules, performs equipment diagnostics and repairs, and ensures compliance with safety and quality standards. Collaborating closely with business partners, the team manages work orders, monitors progress, and implements improvements. Members apply technical skills in electrical diagnostics and equipment repair while fostering a professional environment focused on reliability, efficiency, and continuous development to meet evolving operational needs.
You'll Do
Repair & troubleshoot:
Inspect, test, diagnose, disassemble, and repair equipment/systems using hand and power tools as well as multi-craft skills (electronics, networking, electrical, mechatronics, robotics); respond to emergencies; document repairs.
Preventive maintenance:
Follow PM schedules to inspect, clean, repair, and record wear/tear; recommend repairs and replacements; document PM activities.
Work orders & parts:
Manage work orders/schedules and submit daily logs/summaries; order/track parts inventory and usage
Safety & compliance:
Follow Walmart safety standards (LOTO, PPE, machine guarding) and applicable federal/state/local regulations; ensure contractors meet required safety and quality expectations.
Proven experience in performing preventive maintenance to ensure equipment safety and functionality.
Skilled in diagnosing and repairing electrical, mechanical, and electronic systems using diagnostic programs and system health dashboards
Proficient with computers and common software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, CMMS/work order systems) for documentation and communication.
Ability to utilize hand and power tools, hoists, and diagnostic equipment effectively.
Experience managing work orders, maintenance schedules, and accurate documentation.
Capability to collaborate with teams and business partners to improve processes and meet operational goals.
Commitment to quality workmanship and adherence to company policies and ethical standards.
Minimum QualificationsVocational or Technical certification and 3 years' experience in one of the following trades: automation, robotics, mechatronics, microelectronics, or related trade or 5 years' experience in one of the following trades: automation, robotics, mechatronics, microelectronics, or related trade.
