Position Summary:
Provides a positive and safe dance environment that teaches children through adults the love of dance and helps with focusing on youth development and healthy living. Looking for someone for mid‑mornings and some evenings. Will be more classes beginning May through the summer months.
Essential Functions- Ability to teach using various dance styles and methodologies from beginner to advanced level.
- Explain and demonstrate techniques and methods of regulating movements of body to musical or rhythmic accompaniment.
- Choreograph routines and select music for recitals and concerts.
- Engage, encourage, and motivate students to reach their goals.
- Assist each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation of discipline and sportsmanship and an increased level of self‑esteem.
- Acts as a goodwill ambassador between the YMCA and participants.
- Ensures a well‑rounded program.
- Assist with assessing the needs of the program and act accordingly to fill those identified.
- Assist with developing the curriculum for their age group and go over it with the Youth Development Director.
- Adhere to program standards, including safety and cleanliness.
- Report suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
- Follow mandated abuse and incident reporting requirements.
- Meet timelines and deadlines related to supporting systems and employee compliance. Example includes but is not limited to Kronos Workforce Ready for review and approval of time sheets.
- Maintain the safety and well‑being of the children at all times.
- All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Previous teaching experience required.
- Energetic, driven, creative, and dependable.
- Demonstrate patience and leadership skills.
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention trainings.
