Class A CDL Route Driver (End Dump)

About the Role

Denali is seeking a safety-focused Class A CDL Route Driver to join our growing operations team. This position is responsible for operating Class A commercial vehicles equipped with end dump trailers to safely collect and transport organic food waste from customer locations throughout assigned routes. Drivers average 15-25 stops per day while providing excellent customer service and maintaining DOT compliance.

The ideal candidate has experience operating end dump trailers, performing thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and working safely in all weather conditions. This is a physically demanding position that requires loading, unloading, and maneuvering containers while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and professionalism.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles with end dump trailers in accordance with DOT regulations and company safety policies.

* Complete assigned collection routes with approximately 15-25 customer stops per day.

* Perform complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including checking:

* Brakes

* Slack adjusters

* Tires

* Lights

* Hydraulic systems

* Air lines

* Suspension components

* All required safety equipment

* Safely operate hydraulic dump trailer systems during loading and unloading.

* Transport organic food waste to designated disposal or processing facilities.

* Maneuver and service 65-gallon totes weighing up to 75 pounds safely and efficiently.

* Maintain accurate Electronic Logging Device (ELD) records and DOT documentation.

* Complete service tickets, inspection reports, maintenance reports, and required paperwork accurately.

* Keep customer sites clean after servicing containers.

* Report vehicle defects, accidents, safety concerns, or maintenance needs immediately.

* Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, and operations personnel.

* Participate in all company safety meetings and required training.

* Maintain a clean, professional appearance and properly care for assigned equipment.

* Work overtime and flexible schedules as business needs require.

Minimum Qualifications

* Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL).

* Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

* Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background requirements.

* Experience operating end dump trailers preferred.

* Knowledge of DOT regulations and Hours of Service requirements.

* Experience performing DOT-compliant pre-trip and post-trip inspections.

* Ability to safely inspect brakes, slack adjusters, and other critical vehicle components.

* Strong work ethic with excellent attendance and reliability.

* Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent physical activity throughout the workday.

Candidates must be able to:

* Lift and carry up to 75 pounds.

* Safely maneuver 65-gallon totes weighing up to 75 pounds.

* Push, pull, bend, squat, kneel, climb, and twist throughout the workday.

* Climb underneath trucks and trailers to inspect brakes, slack adjusters, and suspension components.

* Operate hydraulic end dump trailer systems safely.

* Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, mud, and humidity.
