Nott Company is a leading provider of engineering solutions and integrated processes serving the industrial, fluid power, and engineered materials markets. We are currently seeking a Buyer to join our team at our Kaukauna WI location.
In this role, you will be responsible for purchasing materials, equipment, and supplies from assigned vendors in a timely and cost-effective manner while ensuring customer demand and quality requirements are consistently met.
What will you be responsible for?- Interpret and execute Purchase Orders for assigned commodities, while maintaining tracking visibility and internal communication through receipt.
- Maintain adequate inventory levels for assigned components to meet customer demands through safety stock, min/max, historical, as well as other directed criteria.
- Communicate potential line down threats with operational and departmental leaders.
- May process warehouse inventory transfer requests.
- Monitor and expedite unconfirmed, or upcoming and past due PO’s daily.
- Support requests to obtain REACH, RoHS, Conflict Mineral, Prop 65 etc. certifications
- Evaluates vendor quotes and services to identify or challenge discrepancies through negotiation.
- Solicit price quotations from suppliers and maintain cost data in the business system software.
- Communicate with Customer Service any changes to pricing affecting current purchases.
- Coordinate and administer the return of parts to suppliers via the Returned Goods Process.
- Resolve invoice discrepancies with Accounts Payable with urgency.
- Manage the relationship with assigned suppliers, communicating any on time delivery concerns.
- Participate in processes and programs aimed at continuous improvement and safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 4 years purchasing experience. ISO 9001 experience preferred.
SKILLS: Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills. Strong problem solving and PC software skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize job duties in a fast-paced work environment. Excellent decision-making skills and independent judgement.
