Laborer, Maintenance​/Cleaning, General Labor

$30.00/hr - $35.00/hr

Position Summary The Laborer position performs a variety of heavy manual labor activities that vary, depending on the season. Under the supervision and direction of the Superintendent or Foreman, the Laborer will work primarily outside, and may work within a crew or independently, depending on assignment. The regular schedule for this position is 7am-3:30pm M-Th, 7am-1pm Friday, with occasional shifts of 4am-12pm.

This is manual labor in the form of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks of a physically demanding nature.

• Garbage collection
• Painting
• Snow removal (including shoveling)
• Cleaning parks
• Leaf pick up, raking, tree trimming, and weed removal
• Cleaning sewers
• Shoveling asphalt
• Drive trucks and help in general street maintenance

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to write, read, understand and follow instructions.
• Truck driving experience desired.
• CDL preferred or must be able to obtain within 180 days of hire.

• Prolonged periods standing and walking.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment.
• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with work activities.

Pay Rate: $29.50+ Based on Experience
