Position Overview

The Warehouse Operator/Forklift Operator position’s primary function is to maximize the selection and loading process of Nestlé products by ensuring accurate orders, meeting target rates per hour, and maintaining product integrity and quality standards throughout the loading process. The role also uses various inventory and tracking systems and recognizes waste to adjust execution accordingly.

Compensation

Approximate hourly pay: $24.02/hr. $1.00/hr 2nd shift differential. Final compensation may vary based on background, skills, abilities, and geographic location.

Shift Details
  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM;
    Tuesday – Saturday
  • 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM;
    Monday – Friday
Primary Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a powered industrial truck (forklift) during order selecting and loading; complete and maintain internal forklift certification.
  • Accurately and efficiently load finished products onto delivery trucks while maintaining accurate quality inspection forms.
  • Prepare all required documentation to maintain the highest quality finished product for customers.
  • Maintain performance expectations for key metrics and identify opportunities to improve distribution center operations.
  • Recognize waste (labor, time, moves, product, etc.) within the distribution center, adjust accordingly, and help develop action plans for continuous improvement.
  • Learn inventory and tracking systems, including EWM (Wave Control, Replenishment, Stock Moves, Inventory adjustments) and SAP (Dock & Yard, Transportation Planning, D-note creation, etc.).
  • Communicate directly with co‑workers on issues, share ideas, encourage performance, give feedback, and train new employees when applicable. Communicate with Workflow Coordinators and Operations Supervisors to maintain product flow and prevent distribution disruptions.
  • Conduct activities safely, follow corporate safety guidelines and requirements, use personal protective equipment, and proactively address unsafe conditions. Maintain housekeeping and safety compliance; be inspection ready at all times.

Minimum Requirements & Education Level
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Successful completion of post‑offer background checks and drug screen.
  • Willingness to work assigned schedule, including weekends, holidays, and required overtime.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Ability to work safely.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English.
  • Experience using warehouse equipment preferred (forklift, pallet jacks, etc.).
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs repetitively.
  • Ability to stand for 6–8 hours per shift.
  • Must be able to work in a freezer/refrigerated environment.
  • 2+ years of warehouse experience preferred; freezer/refrigerated experience a plus.
