Operator - Loom

Overview

The Albany International Kaukauna facility is a union-free environment. The Loom Operator plays a major role in the initial stage of production of Engineered and Forming Fabrics for use in the building, pulp and paper industry.

Over time the incumbent is trained in a variety of distinct tasks each associated with the classification of Loom Operator, including knot-tying, threading, setup, start-up, loom operation, cleaning and burling fabrics. Rotating Schedule

Essential Job Functions

• To operate weaving looms.
• To follow instructions on trailer cards.
• To perform standard work as specified in JIBS.
• To assure quality of products.
• To perform minor maintenance work.
• Knot tie and help warpers
• Help with Changeovers
• Help thread
• Operate hoist/forklift
• Help clean looms
• Start ups
• To work on process improvement initiatives.
• To participate on various Department Groups and Committees.
• To act as a member of the Department Weaving Team.
• To perform all tasks requested by Team Leads.
