The Van Driver is responsible for safely operating a transit van on a morning and afternoon schedule. The Driver must ensure that the transit van is always in good operating condition; pick up and drop off students as per the schedule and assigned route(s); maintain order and security on the van; and obey all laws, regulations, and rules of conduct.

• Operate the transit van in a safe and effective manner to minimize risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.
• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks. Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections of your van and report discrepancies.
• Keep van clean, fueled, and in good working condition; communicate with mechanics on maintenance issues and schedule cleaning.
• Ensure the van is safely and securely stored.
• Attend training programs and meetings as required.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with good public relations and customer service.
• Valid Class D driver’s License with a good driving record; favorable background check.
• The ability to obtain a commercial driver’s license.
