We7re looking for someone who loves numbers and wants to play a key role in building one of Northern Utahs premier landscape construction companies.
Responsibilities- Enter and code vendor bills, receipts, and credit card expenses to the correct job and cost code
- Manage accounts payable and vendor payments
- Manage accounts receivable, invoicing, and collections
- Process weekly payroll
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards
- Maintain accurate job-costing information
- Provide a current cash-position report
- Prepare weekly financial and job-cost reports for ownership
- Assist with WIP reporting, progress billing, retainage, and lien waivers
- Close the books monthly and prepare accurate financial reports
- Coordinate with our CPA on tax planning, year-end reporting, and other accounting needs
- Build and organize estimates inside Aspire
- Enter quantities, labor hours, materials, subcontractors, and equipment costs
- Request pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
- Maintain current material pricing and estimating templates
- Assist with takeoffs from plans, drawings, and project information
- Create material lists and purchasing information for approved projects
- Assist with change-order pricing
- Compare estimated costs against actual job costs
- Help maintain production rates and labor assumptions
- Identify cost overruns, pricing issues, and missed estimate items
- Help improve estimating accuracy and project profitability
- Two or more years of bookkeeping, accounting, estimating, or construction-office experience
- Strong Quick Books Online experience
- Experience processing payroll
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Comfortable working with spreadsheets and financial reports
- Able to identify missing or questionable information rather than guessing
- Comfortable communicating with vendors, customers, and subcontractors
- Organized and able to manage multiple responsibilities
- Willing to learn our estimating systems and construction processes
- Construction, landscaping, trades, or contractor bookkeeping
- Job costing, WIP reporting, progress billing, and retainage
- Construction estimating or project-costing experience
- Reading landscape plans, construction drawings, or scopes of work
- Experience with Aspire or another construction management platform
- Experience with lien waivers and subcontractor compliance
- Airtable or similar database experience
- Landscape construction knowledge is helpful but not required
