Coder, Healthcare Administration, Medical Billing and Coding

Overview

Tanner Clinic has an immediate opening for a full-time Coder. This position is not remote and is located at our Kaysville Business Office.

• Responsible for maintaining coding compliance for multi-specialty clinic.
• Audit procedure and diagnostic codes for accuracy, detail and comprehensive description of clinical procedures.
• Responsible for maintaining current ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT and coding skills.
• Use word processing, spreadsheet, database, and e-mail.
• Ability to interpret and apply Medicare (CCI) and payer edits.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School diploma required
• Certified Professional Coder is required

• Coding experience preferred

• Demonstrates knowledge of medical terminology
• Must have strong knowledge of computer and other office equipment

• Knowledge of billing practices and clinic policies and procedures
• Knowledge of coding and clinic operating policies
• Proficient skills in computer programs
• Ability to understand and interpret policies and regulations
• Ability to read and interpret medical charts
• Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness
• Ability to communicate effectively and work with others

Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.

Involves sitting approximately 90 percent of the day, walking or standing the remainder.
