Under the direct supervision of the Superintendent or Lead Operator, performs skilled work in the operation, maintenance, and repair of wastewater treatment systems.

• Checks and assures that all stages of the wastewater treatment processes are maintained in working condition.
• Periodically checks pumps, flow, mechanical, and chemical processes; maintains, cleans, inspects, repairs and tests various pump stations.
• Monitors various types of gauges and systems and makes adjustments according to instructions.
• Acts as a laboratory analyst/operator under direction of the Laboratory Personnel when requested.

• Graduation from a standard senior high school or GED equivalent.
• Minimum experience:
  
  Five (5) years in treatment plant operations (Grade IV Operator).
• Minimum experience:
  
  Four (4) years in treatment plant operations (Grade III Operator).
• Minimum experience:
  
  Two (2) years in treatment plant operations (Grade II Operator).
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Possess a valid Utah State Driver License and be able to obtain a Class A CDL within 12 months.
• Pass alcohol and drug test.
• Complete basic physical requirements: lifting 50 pounds, walking ½ mile, climbing 30 stairs, reaching, stooping, grasping, balancing, kneeling, crouching.
• Willing to work on-call (24 hours).
