Exciting Opportunity: 4-H Mentoring Coordinator (Part-Time, Flexible Hours!)

About Us: Since 2001, 4-H Mentoring has been a transformative community-based program, serving youth ages 9-15 who could benefit from one-on-one mentoring. We focus on providing guidance, friendship, and positive role models to youth who may come from disadvantaged backgrounds.
We are expanding into Davis and Weber County, serving youth and families. This is an exciting opportunity to build and grow a new mentoring program with the support of an established team across the state.
What You’ll Do:
- Engage with at-risk youth, mentors, and families to build meaningful relationships.
- Organize and facilitate exciting monthly events—think fun, interactive, and growth‑focused activities!
- Travel to local schools, 4-H events, and mentees' homes in Davis and/or Weber County. (Reliable transportation is a must!)
- Establish local partnerships to recruit youth and mentors
- Collaborate with an experienced mentoring team that provides guidance and support.
- Create a supportive and enriching environment that fosters belonging, independence, generosity, and mastery for youth.

Responsibilities- Maintain 25 mentor/mentee matches at your site
- Recruiting/Retention of volunteer adult mentors
- Interview and screen volunteer adult mentors
- Recruiting/Retention of youth and families for the program
- Plan and implement monthly Mentor/Mentee events
- Plan and implement Family Night Out events (every other month)
- Attend all staff meetings and trainings (trainings are held virtually)
- Plan and implement trainings for mentors
- Maintain site data (volunteers, families/youth, surveys, etc.)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to work with volunteers, youth, and families
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Applications, Google Drive, Gmail, Social Media)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self‑starter with good follow‑through
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- College education
- Mentoring experience working with children, youth, and families
- Past experience in the 4‑H as a youth or volunteer
- Past experience working with nonprofits, community organizations
- Past experience in events planning
- Bilingual - English/Spanish
